Last year, the world's biggest model railway show took to the virtual stage for the first time, having sadly not been able to host a physical event at Birmingham's NEC as they have done in previous years. The Virtual Warley National Model Railway Exhibition was still a great success lasting an entire weekend and with superb features from the likes of Hornby, PECO and Pete Waterman. You can read our roundup of the 2020 show here. We also looked at the fascinating history of the club in a previous article, which you can read here.
Though the model railway club are firmly underway with plans to open a physical event again in 2021 (details here), throughout the year they have continued to make use of the virtual format by bringing their club members 'Warley Wednesdays' with updates from both within the club and the wider model railway industry.
We Are Railfans was lucky enough to join Andy for one of the streams on Wednesday 16th June - the first from within their club house since 2019! You can find the video below. We've also included embeds of a few previous instalments of 'Warley Wednesdays' featuring Railway Modeller Magazine's Steve Flint, Kathy Millatt from Channel 5's The Great Model Railway Challenge, Pete Waterman and a selection of members of the Warley Model Railway Club.
